Release Notes for Alarm Triage - Fall 2025

Overview

During the last few months we've invested in AI to group alarms into a single work order, enhanced notifications, and released several new self-service administration features. This means it is easier than ever before to ensure no critical alarm is overlooked and you only create work that really matters.

AI Agent for Event Grouping

Alarms are an important signal that something isn't working as desired, but often times a single event can activate multiple alarms. Virtual Facility's AI Agent for Event Grouping consistently performs this triage in seconds, dramatically improving response time and reducing costs. Administrators activate the agent in the Action section of an automation rule using the setting "Automatically associate related active alarms to the created work ticket". When turned on, the AI agent will review other active alarms as part of creating a work order on any alarm.

Self-Service Administration

Asset Aliases

Aliases are the various names or abbreviations found in BAS alarms that represent a specific building or asset. They can be used in Virtual Facility for identifying buildings, floors, rooms, equipment, and systems. Understanding what aliases exist in alarms helps the BAS Integration associate alarms to assets more accurately and improves data quality. See the article Asset Aliases for more details.

CMMS Integration Field Configuration

In the past CMMS configuration changes have required assistance from the Virtual Facility support team, but no longer! Administrators can now update field configurations and page layouts from within the settings area. See the article on CMMS Integration Field Configuration for more details.

Inventory Upload

Extending the solution often requires adding new asset inventory and relationships. With the new inventory upload capability, administrators can upload assets and rooms along with their types, relationships, and CMMS mappings. See the article on Inventory Upload for more details.

Additional Bulk Actions

We've added several bulk actions to make managing data in the solution more efficient.

Item Action Purpose
Asset Reassign Alarms Move alarms the correct asset.
Asset Delete Asset Delete Assets without existing alarms or relationships.
Alarm Assign Asset Move alarms the correct asset.
Alarm Assign Building Assign alarms to the correct building.
Alarm Assign Priority Assign alarms to the desired priority.
Work Close Work Close work tickets that are no longer needed because the work was already performed.

Notification Enhancements

Maintaining high awareness on critical alarms and how the organization is responding to them can improve response times dramatically. Our notification updates extend what is possible and simplify the user experience for notification recipients.

  • Additional Fields for Work Ticket Notifications - Active Alarm Count, CMMS Status, CMMS Assignee, and CMMS Shop are now available as lens filters, so work notifications can provide awareness on work tickets that have not been assigned with SLAs.
  • SMS Notifications include Links - notifications on alarms and work now include a link so users can quickly investigate the item in the solution.
  • Notification Audit Cancellations - administrators can more easily troubleshoot notifications by seeing audit records for notifications that got cancelled because the notification delay was not met.
